Students need multicultural reading material. It is important that they see themselves in the books that are read to them, along with the books they read. Students also need material that help them understand mathematics and science. Too many times these subjects are pushed aside because the focus is on ELA. Books that are geared towards science and math will help students grow a love for that subject. Students also need reading material that is on their level. My students are beginning to read so I would love to have a library that is on their level.
