Dear Gentle Reader, Thank you for taking the time to peruse my request. These new trying times of distance learning are a challenge using tomorrow's tools for today's children. However, we are using yesterday's technology, which can't handle the load to adequately teach our eager minds. Our district has promised us newer computers to handle the data load necessary to meet the needs of Zoom, connections of more than 20 students at a time, and the processing power to show all the digital material online. However, this hasn't happened yet, and the stuttering antique that I am using to reach my kids is making life difficult. My husband is a great man and a decent tech. He has optimized our household as best as he can to maximize my efforts for the kids, but his know-how is limited to the machine I'm using. It is sadly lacking in basic necessities like a decent video card and enough RAM to run all the programs I need. He has shown me that the 8gb of RAM is taken nearly half by just turning the computer on! I am pleading for your assistance to help intervene on the behalf of my kids. They deserve a better product of teaching than having stuttering videos, dropped Zoom calls, and most of all, the passion I have towards guiding their minds. I'm asking for a new Apple Macbook Pro with at least 16gb of RAM and a 16" monitor. These standards will help me keep an eye on my students and help my students keep an eye on their curriculum without interference!
