Many of my students will not purchase calculators on their own and there are numerous topics in our curriculum that require calculators to be successful. Recently, our district has slashed our department and classroom budgets so I am unable to go through normal channels in order to outfit my class with working calculators. You may be asking why not just let the students use their cell phones. Well, once their phones are out, they may or may not be using it as a calculator. Thanks for reading!
