It has been said that a student must first "Maslow" before they can "Bloom." This means it is important for a student to first feel safe, warm, fed, and cared for before they can be ready to learn. Our current work space is very bland and clinical, with the inclusion of a sofa and chair, we can break out of the institutional feel and give our students a sense of comfort and stability. Giving students a comfortable selection in seating can improve a students sense of safety. Many of our students come from hostile home environments and we wish to give them a comfortable and functional learning space. Cool lighting and comfort can make all the difference in the world when it comes to learning.

About my class
