I plan to have students read and act out "The Crucible". They have not had exposure to plays as literature and I want them to be able to see the enjoyment and creativity that plays can bring to us as readers . By reading The Crucible, my students can explore and analyze issues they deal with everyday: intolerance, power, justice, reputation, and learning to not believe everything you hear. By making connections to their own lives, students will be more interested and proactive in their learning. They will expand their historical knowledge as well and make connections to today's world.
