Students will learn the importance of respecting their tribe (Those playing with them in their drum circle.) Students will learn about the African culture and what drum circles represent. The students will explore and create different drum patterns through improvisational playing, incorporating words and phrases into rhythmic patterns. Students will learn how to create their own rhythmic patterns within a certain amount of measures of time within a song to keep it moving along.
