All of our students want to engage in gross motor play. Because my students are challenged in this area of development, gross motor play can be difficult. Students work on skills during teletherapy sessions once a week, but having a bag of toys and equipment at home allows for them to be used daily with their families, further helping to build their gross motor skills. These items will help improve gross motor skills including balance, coordination and strength all while having fun through play. My students mostly come from low-income families and they don't always have the opportunity to have toys and equipment specifically designed to use for gross motor development. My goal is to provide each of my students with a few things they can use at home to work on getting stronger and better than they already are.
