The use of an iPad will help me meet the individual learning needs of my students. I will be able to set students up with independent practice on skills they are trying to master. This enables a student to work at his/her own pace or with a partner to help foster social skills and teamwork. There are many academic programs that can be accessed through technology that are engaging and motivational for the students. The immediate feedback of these programs is beneficial for students who are working on building their confidence in their academic skills. An iPad will also allow for mobility of the technology device they need to use daily. The student can sit on the carpet with peers to work on activities on the iPad. The flexibility of movement with this device will help students who find it challenging to sit at a desk for a lengthy period of time in front of a laptop or desktop computer.
