Students will learn how plants can grow in different mediums. They will be able to watch seeds grow and observe the roots in the hydroponic and aquaponic systems. The aquaponic system will let students observe one way that plants and animals can be mutually beneficial. Growing plants in soil will allow students to find out how different vegetables tolerate weather in northern Indiana and how to increase the growing season through use of a greenhouse. Most importantly, students will have the opportunity to connect with nature and be responsible for the care of living things.
