Having all the materials I requested will make remote learning more conducive for my students with disabilities. Specifically, the use of technology will help my students with varying learning needs and abilities. For example, the Apple Pencil will allow for me to model math problems for my visual learners. In a traditional classroom, the teacher teaches the students in the same way without considering individual learning preferences and differences. With technology, teachers can individualize learning and teach in smaller groups. Other benefits of technologies include the following: Increased independence, personalized learning, better connection with peers, reduced anxiety and improved academic skills. Supporting students and ensuring they are up and ready for school is crucial when it comes to attendance and academic success. Attendance and student achievement goes hand-in-hand and with An Amazon Echo Dot, the students can set alarms to be up for class, ask Alexa to play music, ask for the weather, control compatible smart home devices, and more. In addition, the use of portable folding desks will provide my students with an enhanced working from home environment. For example, some students do not have the luxury of a personalized working space which leads to discomfort and distractions. Overall, in my classroom, technology, Amazon Echo Dot and a comfortable workspace will be used as a tool for empowerment as well as differentiated instruction to meet my students' needs. It creates a collaborative and innovative space for all students to learn. Not only will this help my students achieve academically but more importantly, prepare them for the world.
