This iPad Pro will allow me to enhance and document student experiences remotely, as well as on our school-sponsored trips coinciding with our Civic curriculum. Students will use this device to access available virtual resources at the venues we visit and events they participate in and to record our group experiences, developing them into a comprehensive presentation to the school administration and school board. This is a required demonstration of our civic engagement during our trips. This will also enable students to compile the presentations and videos we take into a presentation that will be shared with all participants. This device will enable me to continue to integrate the available technology features on our annual trip for all of our 8th graders to Colonial Williamsburg, Monticello, Washington, D.C., and New York City. This is a key element in the promotion of civic engagement with my students. I have been using my own personal device which is now outdated and somewhat compromised with personal data. This iPad Pro will enhance my ability to enable students to use technology in these field experiences, as well as integrate them in the classroom via Bluetooth capabilities when we return to the classroom. Unfortunately, we are not funded for these types of devices by our school district.
