These books will appeal to my students and add to the literacy environment we strive for at our school. Reading is fundamental and doing a novel study will make it engaging for my students as they discuss the events in the book and their feelings. I encourage my students to read and it is sometimes a challenge. These books are relevant for them and the themes in the book make it more relatable for my students. My goal is to create a love of reading in each and every one of my students! I want my students to WANT to read and not read because it is simply assigned. I want to cultivate a love of reading for my students and these books would be a great start.
