Our Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten students need gross motor activities and tools to help them develop the skills needed to become successful life-long learners. With your help, our Kindergarten team would like to create a gross motor workout area inside our hallway so that our little ones can get their wiggles out while working on the development of balancing, hopping, body control, and other essential gross motor skills. In a “normal” school year, our students would have physical education on a daily basis, but with our block scheduling, they now receive other academic specials instead of physical education. Physical movement throughout the day is critically important to their academic progress and the development of their physical coordination. Many studies have shown young children must have opportunities to move in class and that memory and movement are linked. These studies confirm that the body is a tool of learning and must be honed to support the development of the whole child. Please consider donating to our grade level team so that we can purchase a low balance beam, scooter boards, Walk-The-Wave Balance Beam, exercise/balance balls, Spin and Slide Spooner Boards, and other vital tools for our students our students need in order to help them achieve their personal best. Thank you for your consideration and support to help us deliver an incredible kindergarten experience so our students can build a solid foundation for them to construct their future educational experiences on.
