The VR equipment will be used in my Grade 7 and 8 Social Studies and Science Classes. The VR apps will allow kids from Flint, MI to experience an immersion into locations like The Anne Frank House, The Metropolitan Museum of Fine Art, The Battle of Gettysburg, The International Space Station, The Parthenon, and many more. Each of these immersions will be linked to learning standards and will play a great role in helping these kids develop an understanding of these iconic places/events that are so challenging for them within their limited world view and experiences. It will help equalize experiences for our kids, many of who do not have the resources to prioritize museums, live arts, or travel as part of the experiential knowledge that increases chances for success!
