The class set of The Book Thief will be a great addition to our literature unit on biographies as a paired reading with The Diary of Anne Frank. It will give the students the opportunity to make text connections, as well as self connections. By reading both books, students can make real world connections to current events and self reflect on the messages that both of these books present. Journaling, creative construction projects, Socratic seminars will help my students have a deeper understanding of the text and the events of the time period.

About my class
