For students in primary grades, handwriting practice, and using pencil/paper has become more important after spending so much time learning on devices. After reading exciting texts in the library, students would be able to have their own primary journal to draw a picture and respond in writing. Writing is an essential job skill. Writing is the primary basis upon which one's work, learning, and intellect will be judged—in college, in the workplace, and in the community. Writing equips us with communication and thinking skills. Students will be able to use their journals to respond to all types of literature in writing. Writing fosters our ability to explain and refine our ideas to others and ourselves.
