Big books are great for teaching reading strategies. During this pandemic, the second graders coming in did not complete their full first grade curriculum last year and they are struggling with reading. These books will hep me teach them how to read, reading strategies and make it fun for them. The math manipulatives will help my students as well. They are facing a year of learning through technology and math is challenging. When I have them in the classroom, I use manipulatives to help teach a new skill. I do not have math manipulatives in the classroom and I have been making them. This math set will save me a lot of time and give my students the extra step they need in their math learning.
