Reading a story from the Holocaust from the eyes of someone that is the age of my students, seems of the utmost importance to me. However, my students are not the strongest readers. I hope that reading the graphic novel version of Anne Frank’s diary will help them better understand and visualize the content. Not only do I hope they walk away with a better understanding of history, I hope that they will learn more about kindness, empathy, and compassion by reading this story and immersing themselves in Ms. Frank’s world.
