As the 5th grade ELA teacher, my goal is to find relatable timeless text that my student's will appreciate the way I did at their age. I have so many ideas to incorporate into my lessons, but the world of virtual teaching requires so many more hours of prep that I have not found a way to add more hours to a week. I'm finding myself providing basic instruction and materials solely from lack of text and no extra time to prep activities. Having new books and activities will give me that extra boost I need to keep my students engaged and actually liking the stories we read.
