This year, a child with Down Syndrome joined my classroom. Children with Down syndrome experience specific learning difficulties and require additional, targeted support in the classroom. I have very little experience with students with this diagnosis. This course will help me better understand her difficulties and will show me how to adapt my teaching in order to help her grow academically. I will learn what research tells us about learning and development for children with Down Syndrome and how this can inform a more successful approach to meet her specific needs.

About my class
