Our students work super hard every day. We are a predominantly Latino school in the Mission District of San Francisco where over half of our students are English Learners. They work so hard every day to reach their academic goals and during recess, they are encouraged to play with classmates and develop healthy socio-emotional skills in the yard. Unfortunately, their playground has seen better days and the 4 square court, which houses four games, is faded very badly. I would like to repaint this area and give our kids a play area they can be proud of. We push them to accomplish their academic and linguistic goals every day and when it comes time for them to play and develop their social skills, they deserve a recess yard that is bright and cheerful. I intend to make this upgrade for them!
