Instruments are an integral part of music education. Not only are they used to have fun and make beautiful music, they teach children many fine motor skills without them even realizing it! These glockenspiels are the perfect size for my younger learners, but also challenge the older learners to hone in their instrument playing to a small object. Barred instruments like glockenspiels allow students an opportunity they might not have anywhere but in music class. These glockenspiels are a special treat, even for my students who seem to have "everything" at home. Glockenspiels are versatile and can be used in units on instruments as well as in every day music class with accompaniment to songs and games. These instruments will ring throughout the school with joyous music made by students in awe of the opportunity they've been given. It might just open the door for a student to find their calling in music for the future.
