As an exceptional child instructor I work with students with a variety of strengths and weaknesses. Students with IEP's often use benefit from repetitive drill and practice using the same resources multiple times to help recall of concepts and knowledge. I often use laminating sheets to get the most use out of papers that are copied to reduce wasted paper and students love getting to use dry erase makers. The book sets will also benefit students with social-emotional deficits. Most of my students do not meet goals as the same time as their classmates so I feel that it is my main priority to help them meet and celebrate every achievement along the way. So many times before students are referred for special education (an IEP) they must show failure without support then failure with support in the form of interventions. This is detrimental to their self-confidence. By supporting me with resources I can use with my students they are able to feel success and build up their confidence.
