Children need to experience a wide variety of mediums in order to truly experience and understand how to create art. The permanent markers that I have requested will be used with my 3rd grade students. My 3rd graders will be studying Mexican folk art, and then creating art inspired by what they have studied. They will learn the art of metal tooling and create relief sculptures that tell a story. They will then use the permanent markers to add color and depth to their sculptures. Keeping school safe for in-person learning during COVID 19 means many different things must occur. One of those things is that all students must have separate supplies. I unfortunately do not have the supply budget to account for each student using a separate set of markers. By donating to this project, you will be helping my students grow in their creative endeavors. These markers will be another tool in helping my students continue to develop as budding artists. They will be thrilled to get to use a new medium!
