Desk drumming with materials such as pool noodles or pipe insulation is a new and creative way to engage students in the music curriculum. It can be used to teach different rhythmic patterns as well as steady beat. It also helps with development of motor skills and coordination. This wonderful learning opportunity is not only educational, but also a highly hands on and captivating way for students to learn and connect with music. With the challenges of COVID-19, supplies will not be able to be shared between classrooms. By having a supply for each individual, all students will have the opportunity to participate in this activity whether they are in person or learning from home!
