Everyone has something in there life, whether is be a sound, touch, taste, or smell that can cause them sensory overload. For students with autism, this problem can be heightened! Sensory overload can cause someone to become upset, angry, and even can become aggressive. This can cause problems in regular life, let alone learning at school! With these items provided, my classroom with students who require deep pressure and heavy input, can be comfortable learning because their sensory needs are being taken care of first. Every student should have an equal opportunity to learn, so sensory sensitivity should be no exception! The SqUoosh chair will allow my students that require a lot of pressure all over there torso to receive what they need, along with the added stimulation of being able to rock. The body pod will be used for students that like the feeling of being enclosed and have some resistance to push against. The foam massage roller will allow the students with deep pressure roll on the parts of their body they feel is in need of that immediate pressure.
