We are a public charter middle school in North Carolina. Our focus is to help students see that they are part of a bigger world. We have around 400 students and a friendly environment. Students come from all walks of life, some take the public bus in and others are dropped off in fancy cars. In school, we work in group settings, both the teachers and students, learning how better to work as a team. Consistently, our students have done very well on state mandated tests, so although we don't use text books, we must be doing something that keeps the learning lamp on. Our school is in an urban area, and we walk throughout the city, as if it were our own, looking for new learning experiences and resources. Our students fondly remember their time at our school and have done well when they have gone on to high school and college.
