My students are working on learning reading skills. Hearing stories activates the imagination and helps kids form pictures in their minds. Hearing stories helps kids understand how language works and use this knowledge to read independently. The headphones will give students opportunities to hear more stories. Having books in their hands that they can read to boost their confidence and help them to practice their reading skills. These books will be at a level my students can read independently. Students will read daily at home as well as at school with these books. At school, I will be guiding them through learning to read each book. At home, they will read the book to an adult to practice the reading skills I am teaching.
