My students spent the last year making music at a distance, often completing recording projects in less than ideal environments at home. After making it through a year of recordings full of dog barks and background voices, I want to give my students a new experience: the opportunity to apply their knowledge of the recording process in a professional sound booth. This project will supply our department with acoustic foam panels and bass traps to turn my office into a fully treated recording booth. No more dog barks for us! This booth will help my students take their music to a new level. We'll be able to record an EP with our new a cappella group, bring students' original songs to life, and create portfolio reels to showcase students' voice acting. Even further, our new production club will be able to create podcasts and radio shows on a variety of topics including sports, comedy, cooking, and more.
