“Preparing Seniors for Success” provides high school seniors an opportunity to research, document, and provide evidence and artifacts of the work they have completed in English IV to be college or career ready. Students create a portfolio of evidence that showcases their accomplishments in academics, extra-curricular activities, community service and personal interests. The purpose of the senior portfolio is for each student to prepare a collection of materials that reflects the student’s academic progress, personal development, future aspirations and dreams. I hope to provide students with an opportunity to showcase their completed portfolios and communicate their accomplishments and growth while attending Plaquemine High School. I also hope to accomplish an increase in the number of students graduating from high school; as well as to promote self-directed and active learners who can problem solve, think critically and carry out challenging tasks by collaborating with the community and by working with business partners.
