Headphones have become a necessary part of today's curriculum, however, they are the least supplied item in a classroom. The gift of headphones will allow my students to engage in computer literacy activities, stories read on CDs and for their national and state assessments which are read aloud to many of my students with special needs. Without headphones, we have had to resort to allowing one or two children to the listening center because the noise can be very disruptive. However, with headphones, children will be able to engage in more independently selected activities.
