In English III, we use electronic devices daily in the classroom. We use them for research, for informal and formal writing assignments, and more recently for reading ebooks. Electronic devices are also helpful in differentiating instruction by allowing students to work at their own pace, they often make the lessons more meaningful and engaging, and they free up teachers to give more one-on-one instruction to students who need it. None of these things can happen though if the batteries in those devices run down and cannot be recharged in a timely manner. Although parents and schools have done a brilliant job providing devices for students, what they have not been able to do and cannot do in many cases is provide sufficient access to electrical outlets when the batteries in these necessary tools run down and the devices cannot be used. As simple as charging stations are, the necessity of having them cannot be understated.
