My scholars have been learning online all year since July. They will continue to be online for the rest of the year. They will not get to have a typical kindergarten experience. To have a kindergartener successfully learn in front of the computer for 6 hours a day and have an engaging experience, they NEED hands-on materials to work with. I've been supplying what I can through my personal budget, but we have 5 more months of online learning and I want to ensure they have materials they can use in a variety of ways to aide in their learning. These hands-on materials will add more of what the kindergarten experience should be like by giving them tools to be successful at home. The dice and whiteboards can be used in a myriad of ways. I will use the whiteboards to see all responses at the same time while kids are on mute so they can all be engaged at the same time. The dice can be used for addition, subtraction, numbers and counting. They can even use it for exercise and movement! We use construction paper to do fun projects so they can cut, glue and create! So many of my families have no construction paper at home to use for activities. Many never have a paint set of their own and their first experience with painting is at school. It is great for fine motor skills, expressing creativity and exploring learning concepts of all types. Thank you for considering my class of virtual learners who want nothing more than the best education and the joys of hands on learning in their first year in school.
