I am requesting high quality sensory items which will assist my students with sensory processing, communication, stress and anxiety, and so much more! Sensory integration is a key part in the success of students who are highly impacted by autism. Countless studies show proper sensory integration with students on the autism spectrum, contributes to a more successful experience in the classroom and through their day to day lives. With these products I hope to create a sensory friendly room with multiple opportunities to give students what they need to be the best version of themselves. I hope to create a sensory area in my classroom that will be safe space for students to access these materials in order to meet their needs (calming, stress/tension release, etc). I also plan on creating structured sensory time to facilitate group play, communication, and socialization. As these high needs students transition back into the classroom after being out for close to a year due to Covid-19, it is more important than ever to help make school a safe place. I hope to create a calm, nurturing, and fulfilling space for my students.
