Throughout my years of teaching, I've focused on making independent reading the focus of my classroom. We all know that the best students are also great readers. To that end, I have spent thousands of dollars on books, created my own library check out system (with a scanner!), and bent over backwards to get the shelving space I needed. I have one last step. In order to make independent reading enjoyable in my classroom, I need the seating that these products provide. Sitting in desks is one thing, but being able to sprawl out around the room in comfortable seating emphasizes the idea that reading is enjoyable and creates a welcoming environment. With these products, I can ensure that students return to that love of reading that they may have enjoyed in elementary school, or perhaps invite them to whole new worlds that they had never previously explored.
