I am a preschool speech therapist, and make it my goal to teach all of my students how to use words functionally and successfully in their classrooms! My preschool students, especially those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, often need concrete examples of vocabulary in order to make learning language more literal and fun. Physical pieces they can see and touch help them learn faster, and often provide a motivating reward for saying and using new words. I hope the books and corresponding felt sets in this project motivate and excite them to engage with reading and the world around them. These books and corresponding materials will provide essential vocabulary and language lessons to my preschoolers, many of whom use and know very few words. I hope to make learning new words fun and engaging, while supporting each student's individual needs. The vocabulary opportunities in these books (shapes, colors, sizes, counting, animals, foods, clothing items, household items, and so much more!) will be so rewarding and beneficial to my students! Thank you!
