Things are definitely not the same! I look at my kindergartners and their parents and sometimes, I just sigh and my heart breaks. My parents are exhausted. They are juggling working full time and teaching their children and trying to explain the new reality we are living in. It's also difficult to learn everything they need from distance learning if they don't have the correct tools at home. Most cannot afford to buy the supplies needed to do the distance learning activities at home. I am looking to help my parents support their children. With students learning at home, there are few supplies for parents to use in order to build and make words. This 2020/2021 school year, I would like to work on these skills and word patterns students struggle with. These letters will allow my students to create and manipulate words with me as I am teaching. Also, parents will be able to watch me teach students. They will have the necessary supplies to continue the learning process at home. These students are our future leaders. We want to give them all the tools we can so they can be successful in whatever endeavor they choose to follow.
