Young children are natural scientists. I see evidence of this in my classroom every day as children observe, ask questions, experiment, & problem-solve. As we look to move into some new topics, I’m realizing that we need help! I hope to purchase a science bundle from Teachers Pay Teachers. This includes printables for 28 science topics. Each set includes labels for organization, vocabulary cards, posters, anchor charts, experiments, books, & tips for connecting learning to home. I will print, laminate, and organize each set, but use "All About Plants" and "All About Insects" as our science topics to finish out this school year. Plants and Insects -The books from the TPT bundle, as well as "Seeds," "Farmer Allen Will," “Flowers,” and "How Plants Grow" will be used for read alouds and available in the science center for rereading independently or with an adult. -The Life Science Picture Puzzles includes plant & insect puzzles that will be placed in our science center for children to develop fine & visual motor skills within their science explorations -The Plant Life and Insect Specimen sets will be in the science center to spark children’s interest & provide an opportunity to practice close observation -The microscopes (this is a tool we don't currently have!) include plant & insect slides for children to view up close -”Measuring the Garden” book with tape measures & rulers for children to measure the growth of seeds we plant --Monarch Life Cycle hand puppets - used for demonstration, then for hands-on practice Supplemental Science Materials -Clipboards for children to document their observations -Platform scale -Safety glasses -Chick life cycle set, backyard birds - for nests/eggs unit -Sound prism set - for 5 Senses unit -Living/Nonliving books - for Living/Nonliving unit -Snowy Day book, Rainbow arches - for Weather Unit
