My class of 2nd and 3rd graders will gain confidence in themselves as readers and learners by having their own Hear Myself Sound Phone. Students will be able to listen to themselves read quietly without disturbing others in the classroom. Sound phones also allow students to feel comfortable practicing reading without feeling anxious about reading aloud. Sound phones can help struggling readers improve phonological awareness by helping kids hear the difference between similar sounds. Due to COVID-19 students are not sharing classroom materials and this project will allow each student will have their very own sound phone to use throughout the school year.
