All of my students are distance learners as schools are still closed in our district. The copies of books will be sent home so students can be able to read the same book as their classmates. Being able to read the same book together as a class helps us feel like we are back in school, studying the same book. We will be practicing our literacy skills as we dive into the book and gain a deeper understanding of it. We will also be able to have discussions about what is happening in the book and how we can connect it to our own life, thus strengthening our sense of community even in distance learning.
