Our goal is to inspire students to be innovators, creators, and leaders. We have two semi-annual STEAM days each school year that are fun, engaging, and have activities tied to standards in Science, Technology, Art, Engineering, and Math. This spring, we would like to put together a Game On Retro Arcade STEAM Day. The activities we have planned are: - Tetris Puzzles, to encourage mathematical and critical thinking - Mario Kart, where students will build a maze and test it using the various Mario cars - Pac Man, where students will program Dash robots to collect ping pong balls and avoid ghosts - Duck Hunt, where students will design and test a pompom launcher - Sonic the Hedgehog, where students will race Sphero robots to complete an obstacle course and collect rings While we have some of the materials necessary for this STEAM Day, our students get so excited when we completely transform our library into an engaging, interactive space for our STEAM Days, and I think they will be excited for a retro arcade theme!
