This is important to me because these books will bring culture to these young students. They live in a small town and have lived here their whole life, which is perfectly fine, but I want to show them what the world is like through reading. Books where the characters don’t always look or act like them. They are different and that is ok. I want them to read books that will open their mind to life outside of Kiowa. These books are also important because They will help build a new vocabulary they aren’t used to hearing or seeing.
