As students learn to recognize and write their name it helps to see their face by their name. Printing students photos alongside the 6+ places they see their name in class, is so valuable! I would also like to print class/"family" photos to hang in our "pretend" and "library/listening" learning centers to promote community. We would use the color printer for so many things from lessons for small groups, engaging centers, to creating visuals for my ESL and nonverbal students. I create the majority of our hands-on centers to address specific student needs and skill sets and a color printer increases engagement. I also teach in a title 1 school and over half my class is labeled ESL. Visuals are so important to bridging the languages the students speak at home to the English language. I use technology/iPads in many centers to practice various skills. One skill in particular is writing and a stylus would greatly assist students' accuracy and in duplicating the actual feeling of writing on paper while writing on an iPad.
