Content learning is most effective when the student can make connections with previously learned content or with some personal experience. The greatest satisfaction a teacher can have is watching his students not only assimilate content, but also put it to work creatively. A suitable learning place facilitates this learning process and creative activity. The Pollinator Garden in which we are working is an ideal place for this process to take place: it is outdoors, which the students like a lot; it is safe since it is located within the school grounds and it is an appropriate strategy that teachers can use for the teaching of diverse subjects such as Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies because they are surrounded by nature, where everything is connected. The benches that we are requesting for our garden have as a primary purpose that both students and teachers feel comfortable enjoying the teaching-learning process and to make the garden a welcoming place for the school community.
