I would like an additional monitor in my classroom to help me manage tabs and screen sharing during distance learning. By having a second screen (in addition to the laptop I already have), I can screen share our lesson on my laptop and have Zoom displayed on this monitor. Students will benefit from having the two screens because I will not have to toggle back and forth so much between what I am sharing and checking with students for understanding. Having two screens allows me to see my students while I am teaching, to monitor their engagement, see when students have questions, and so forth. Distance learning has been very hard, particularly navigating technology, and a second monitor will allow me to better serve my students. My students will especially benefit from this because I will be able to quickly access information that they may need for direct instruction. I will be able to help them quicker without having to toggle back and forth between screens, which with lag time, can often take a minute or two - precious time lost in online learning. It will also allow my students to easily share their own screen with me so that I may help them with any technical issues they are having from their home computers.
