The students I work with are struggling readers and want to succeed in reading but have a difficult time because many of the books they face are too hard. Students come to me feeling very defeated and unmotivated because of the struggles they encounter. I want to give students their motivation and feeling of accomplishment by providing students with Bob Books at their reading levels. "Picture your child with bright eyes, saying the magical words, "I read the whole book!"" quote by Bob Books. These Bob Books offer short stories, many three letter words that can be sounded out, each book/set builds on previous books, consistency with story lines and characters, and repetition to reinforce skills. With all of these skills and strategies provided to my students they are able to start reading these books and experience the pride of being able to read a 'book'. Our students are currently working from home with remote learning and don't have access to appropriately leveled books. Having multiple sets of these books would allow me to send some home on our materials pick up days so they can independently practice their reading skills. When we return to in-person learning my Para-educators and I will use these books at school with students.
