The document camera will allow my students to actually SEE the strategies that the teachers are using while teaching a text. Currently, we are full distance learning and we do not have a way to show the students how to highlight, decode words, locate evidence, and other strategies in the text because we need to hold the book up to the camera. The whiteboards will be used by students to show the camera their understanding through our Google Meets. These materials will allow the teacher to see the faces of the students and their work on the computer while projecting the text using the document camera. A camera will be focused on the whiteboard and the students will be able to see what the teacher is projecting. The students will write the answer and flash the board to the camera. When we return to in-person learning, the students will use the document camera and whiteboards with small groups of students to manipulate letters, show sounds, and practice various reading strategies and skills interactive. The document camera and whiteboards will allow us to demonstrate ways to help or improve student learning. The document cameras and whiteboards will help our students from the classroom and at home to improve their strategies and skills in reading.
