The inclusion of these books will greatly influence learning in my classroom. My students are often unable to visit libraries, have books read to them or have books to read. By adding more books of differing genres and including the diversity in our world, they will be able to see, wonder, think and apply stories to their own lives. These opportunities are ones that without additional books, my students would be unable to have. I will use these books to incorporate comprehension of literary elements, as well as, inclusion of topics students need to understand in our world. in the classroom. Units will be planned around these books, their themes and the story elements they include. With this donation, I will ensure my students are starting in kindergarten with a great learning path.
