The use of a laptop is of vital importance in being able to deliver quality lessons during distance learning at home. My students have a love for hands-on learning; especially when it comes to learning useful and practical skills. I have recently attended professional development webinars that taught me some tips on how to make my virtual lessons more engaging through the interactive use of technology. I can't wait to put these methods to use in my virtual classroom! Having a laptop will allow the portability that I need in order to bring my online classroom with me both outside in the garden as well as inside the kitchen to give live demonstrations ~ The video capabilities will make my hands-on lessons come to life! Learning home economic skills is much more exciting when taught by live modeling rather than through textbooks. The utilization of a laptop will enhance my lessons so that students will not just learn about cooking and gardening; they will gain first-hand experience by applying relevant and meaningful real-life skills.
