This year, having access to novels has been quite a challenge for my students. Many years ago, we began teaching using the Reader‘a Workshop model. In this model, the teacher engages in reading a novel aloud while students follow along with their own book. Most times, students share a book because we weren’t able to purchase enough books for our children. During Covid, our students can not share materials. Our hope, is to be able to provide a few titles so students can actively follow along and continue to build their love of books.
